"I started saying 'yes' to more things, allowing me to meet new people, gain new skills, and create more opportunities for myself."

Before attending the Magic Moments Youth Leadership and Business Summit, Zane Ibrahim was curious and driven but lacked the confidence to step outside his comfort zone. While he was always eager to get involved in extracurricular activities, he found himself holding back, not fully challenging himself to grow. Although he knew there was more potential within him, Zane didn’t quite know how to unlock it.

Supported by Bendigo Community Bank Canterbury, Zane walked into the Summit with high expectations but also some doubts. Could it really be as life-changing as everyone said? What he experienced was nothing short of transformative. “Over the 5 days, I really noticed a change in myself... I now genuinely enjoy leaving my comfort zone, because this is where growth occurs,” he says.

Magic Moments immersed Zane in a space built on trust, connection, and personal growth. He learned to step into discomfort, recognising that true growth comes from pushing past what feels easy. Surrounded by peers from all walks of life, each with their own unique perspectives, Zane began to embrace new opportunities and develop a stronger, more confident version of himself.

The impact of the Summit didn’t stop when Zane returned home. Motivated and inspired, he started saying “yes” to things he would have once avoided. He began to build deeper, more meaningful relationships, including showing more love and appreciation for his family.

Zane returned to Magic Moments in the following year to continue his personal growth, knowing that this experience would keep him on track to seek out new opportunities, challenge himself, and stay true to the leader he was becoming. His story is a powerful example of how stepping outside your comfort zone and embracing discomfort can lead to exponential growth, stronger connections, and a renewed sense of purpose.
